Barry Kevin O‘Rourke Maintains Mining Operations in Guyana
Barry Kevin O‘Rourke is a South American mining industry executive who directs S.A.B. Mining and oversees precious-metal and mineral extraction operations. With an extensive knowledge of mineralogy and geology, Barry Kevin O‘Rourke focuses on 1,200-acre blocks of jungle in Guyana and maintains a portfolio of over 25 such tracts. His operations are set up next to another company, which is extracting approximately 250,000 ounces of gold each year.
His mining projects are centered in a region rich in minerals, including gold, diamonds, and bauxite. According to the Guyana Office for Investment, the country also has a variety of semiprecious stone resources and metals such as copper, nickel, iron, and tungsten. Mining licensing, permitting, and research activities are led by the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, and Mr. O’Rourke maintains a strong connection with this agency.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. O‘Rourke gives back to his community and supports children without families and people in impoverished areas. He also contributed to local hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
